The Associate Director, Curriculum and Program Design, will work with the Chief Programs Officer to ensure Content & Curriculum vertical goals are achieved. Additionally, they will collaborate with the members across teams as and when required, as well as be an integral part of the organisational leadership and drive learning across teams.

Program Design & Strategy (20%)

  • Create the strategic plan to strengthen LFE’s Program Design for Foundational and Future Learning verticals in collaboration with team leads from both verticals
  • Analyse global frameworks, local and national assessment data, LFE’s M&E data to continue iterating on the design
  • Design various program models for A/B testing to provide inputs on what would be best to roll out at scale

Content & Curriculum Design and Operations (30%)

  • Oversee and support the Senior Managers to implement processes for the Content and Curriculum team to function successfully across the geographies of LFE operations.
  • Advise on and oversee the design of training materials, handbooks, teacher proficiency metrics, and other auxiliary content and training-related aspects based on research-backed principles 
  • Work with different stakeholders across the different LFE locations to ensure scaling of the program. Work closely with other program leads to help integrate the content team’s outputs
  • Visit training sites, classrooms, and other offices across multiple states to oversee implementation and use the observation data to tweak subsequent plans
  • Coordinate with other teams and operations counterparts to ensure smooth implementation
  • Compile training completion and impact reports in digital and print formats that are widely consumable 

Team Management (30%)

  • Manage a team of 2 Senior Managers, 3-4 Managers and 12-15 Associates, across the Content & Curriculum vertical, focusing on their deliverables and professional support and development
  • Design and lead team structures to sustain a culture of collaboration, belief in public systems and strong accountability and timely project delivery 
  • Assist the organisation in the recruitment and selection of the right team members

Stakeholder Management (10%)

  • Work with the senior leadership team of the organisation to identify and secure necessary funding sources for the teams
  • Consistently engage the existing funders with the organisation’s work that will enable a continued partnership.
  • Submit timely donor reports to keep the funders informed and updated at regular intervals.
  • Find relevant content and design partnerships to support work done by the organisation and foster collaboration in the sector

Monitoring & Evaluation (10%)

  • Maintain trackers to monitor the outputs, quality and efficiency of the content team
  • Collaborate with the M&E Team to ensure data from program operations feeds into program and content design and vice versa

Requirements

 Education & Experience - 

  • Degree in education/teacher development or related discipline. Master’s degree mandatory.
  • 10-12 Years of experience leading large-scale training programs, preferably with the government or with government school teachers
  • Should have led at least 1-2 projects in the government education sector, at the State/district level
  • Proven experience in Primary research, project management and training content creation
  • Experience working in more than 1 state would be preferable

Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and functional knowledge of the regional languages (Marathi, Hindi, Telugu) would be preferred 
  • Working knowledge or certification on Instructional Design
  • Being able to take initiative and work in an autonomous, semi-structured environment
  • Belief in the potential of the public sector and that government systems can and will change towards overcoming systemic inequities and ensuring improved outcomes for all citizens 
  • A basic understanding of social equity, development discourse, and education policy in India
  • Adaptability to changing responsibilities and resourcefulness to respond to them
  • High openness to learning and collaboration
  • Strong ability to create outstanding presentations, work with Microsoft Excel & Google Suite
  • Patience and resilience to stick it out in the face of setbacks and uncertainties

 

Location and Compensation

Location: Pune, Maharashtra. Frequent travel to other LFE sites across the country.   

Compensation: Apart from being a part of a young and dynamic learning team, the individual will receive a healthy compensation at par with the non-profit sector benchmark for this position, commensurate with the individual’s prior experience and qualifications. The current compensation band offered, based on fit and experience, is 18-22 lakh INR per annum CTC.
