Organisation Description

Alohomora Education Foundation is building an ecosystem that empowers young people to make informed career decisions at scale. Alohomora Education Foundation (AEF) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enabling students from government schools to make informed career choices and successfully transition to higher education and skill-building pathways. Established in 2017 by Divakar Sankhla (IIT Madras, IIM Lucknow) and Parinita Jain (University of Michigan), AEF focuses on students in Grades 9-12 through a structured career exploration curriculum implemented by teachers and community facilitators to ensure wide-scale impact.

AEF's innovative approach to career guidance was recognized by the World Bank's Youth Summit in 2016 and has been successfully integrated into government school systems. Its flagship initiative, Pratibha Manthan, won 1st place in the District Good Governance Award 2023 for its impact in Jhajjar. Currently, AEF is working across Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Bihar, reaching 340+ schools, 600+ teachers/facilitators, and 39,000+ students, while also engaging 150+ Youth Leaders in communities.
