Job Purpose -
Project Details :
We want to establish early support systems to empower family caregivers of children identified with delays or at risk of delays falling under the age group of 0 to 6 years.
Four key objectives of the project are :
1.Build capacity among frontline workers to deliver home-based development support and engage caregivers effectively
2.Provide targeted developmental support to caregivers of children identified with delays or at risk of delays through frontline workers
2.Strengthen child development supervision through the screening tool
3.Support in reinforcing government referral channels for clinical interventions

Role :
The Clinical Field Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the effective implementation of home based development support to caregivers of children at risk/identified with developmental delays/disabilities in low-resource settings. This role requires an experienced, proactive individual who can be involved in community engagement, mentoring, training, and providing clinical expertise to support frontline workers and the operations team field activities and mentor internal team members to facilitate.

Job Description -

  • Clinical support on field : Accompany field team & frontline workers during home visits to observe and provide real-time clinical guidance ,resolve clinical queries and support field implementation.
  • Team Mentoring : Mentor field team on clinical perspectives of early childhood development, developmental delay disability, and early intervention approaches, standard framework (FCC , nurturing care,responsive caregiving,etc)
  • Capacity Building of Anganwadi workers : Facilitate regular training sessions for frontline workers on screening tool & caregiver supporting aspects.
  • Process Strengthening: Support in developing SOPs and standard guidelines from clinical aspects
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality checks for field team & frontline workers and provide structured feedback
  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Support in implementation of monitoring frameworks to track progress, outcomes, and gaps.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of meetings, field observations, feedback, recommendations, and quality check reports,etc
  • Impact & Learning: Lead and participate in impact assessment activities including surveys, FGDs, interviews, and monitoring data accuracy Lead Research study for the project.
  • Counselling & Caregiver Support : Collaborate with frontline workers to provide counselling to families in critical cases, addressing emotional and practical caregiver concerns.
  • Community Mobilisation and awareness/sensitisation support : Support in community mobilisation and awareness camps to sensitise families, caregivers, and stakeholders on child developmental milestones, early intervention, and address stigma related to developmental delays and disabilities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Actively engage with community leaders, families, and influencers to foster trust, collaboration, and participation in the project

Desired Profile -

Qualification : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy / Occupational therapy / Speech therapy

Specific Skills :
-Strong clinical knowledge of child development and early intervention strategies
-Excellent communication, counselling, and interpersonal skills
-Ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders, including government bodies and healthcare professionals
-Proficiency in report writing and data documentation

Experience:
-Minimum 3+ years in community-based child development projects or related fields
-Experience in mentoring teams and facilitating training sessions
-Willingness to travel project locations on a daily basis
